Herndon Choir Hits NYC!!!

We had a once in a lifetime trip to NewYork with the HHS choir this past weekend!!  Three days having the time of our life!!  We left Thursday morning and headed to our hotel where we made a quick close change before heading down to times square!!  From there we went to Bubba Gump for dinner and on to Jersey Boys!!  What a great show!!  Friday started early with all of the choirs performing at St.John the Divine Cathedral, it was such an amazing experience!!  From there we went to Central park and walked around for while before heading to NBC studios where we had time to shop and have lunch and had an amazing tour!!  We were able to see Saturday night live rehearsing!!  Some of the kids were actually crying!!  The cast would wave to us and were so darling!!  The tour was amazing!!  From there we headed to chinatown to do some shopping!!  Jenn was definitely in her element there and Amy even had fun after realizing it was not "too sketchy"  Colin and Cameron were her protectors!!  We had dinner in Little Italy before heading to "Once" which was amazing!!  Saturday morning we had a workshop with some of the cast from "Jersey Boys"  a truly once in a lifetime experience.  They learned a song and dance with them and had SO MUCH FUN!!  They got pictures with them and had a blast!!  From there we headed to Times Square for lunch and then to see our last show "Nice Work if you can get it" with Matthew Broderick.  All of the shows were so different and so much fun.  We had such a fun, silly time together as chaperones and enjoyed the choir kids so much.  I loved having this time with my girls and their friends who I just adore!!

Amy is going to BYU!!!

We were so excited to FINALLY get the news that Amy was accepted to BYU Provo!!  She was starting to get really stressed to know one way or another and was starting to doubt herself (no reason to there!!)  We were at dress rehearsal for roadshows when Amy got a text from Sarah that people were starting to hear from BYU, Amy and I went off in a corner where she anxiously checked on her phone if she was in or not, she started to cry and then jump up and down and I knew it was good news!!  We both were crying then and it was a great moment!!  She ran to tell her Dad and her young woman leaders before she ran off to her choir concert and got to share her news with all her choir friends and Dana!!  News leaked out at roadshow that Amy was in and the kids all started checking,  a stressful night!!  It was a really tough year to get into BYU as they took less freshman then they ever have before!!  We are so happy that Amy and Sarah will be together next year and so excited for Amy!!  It breaks my heart to think of her not being here every day, how I will miss her!!  But I know she is so ready for this next step and it will bring her nothing but SOOO much happiness and that makes a Mom so happy and proud!!
