The Tortilla factory has been a Shipp family favorite restaurant for as long as I can remember and a gathering place for SO many occasions I don't even know where to begin. Our group has grown bigger and bigger throughout the years as we added husbands, wives and then kids!! We love going to the Tortilla factory and now our kids love going there as well!! We have celebrated everything from huge promotions for Becky to Becky's bill getting passed, SO many birthdays!! The biggest celebration of all was when we TOTALLY surprised Mom on her 70th birthday at the Tortilla factory where she thought she was going just with Dad and not only was her whole Virginia family there but also her two sisters from Salt Lake and Phil and Sue from Kansas!!! I thought she was going to pass out!! That was the best surprise ever!! We went tonight to the tortilla factory and it will be the last time we all go together here for a couple of years while Mom and Dad are serving their mission in Bogota. We had alot of fun as usual and Mom of course spilled the salsa. We would not have it any other way!! We are SO thrilled and excited for this adventure they are taking, but boy will they be missed!!!

So many wonderful memories have been stored in our minds of family celebrations at the Tortilla Factory. The salsa is to die for and everyone can find something on the menu they like. We will truly miss this tradition but rest assured--we will go there in December 2010.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of Carter and Jenn. I especially love that the Jonas Bro's make an appearance!!! Cute entry!
ReplyDeleteI remember when Matthew and Sarah were little, taking them on walks after dinner at Tortialla Factory -- Matthew particularly liked a comic book store that had lots of Star Wars Figures in it.
ReplyDeleteI also remember back in the 90's that there was a male waiter Dad used to call an "angry white man," and I suspect Dad blamed him for the Republican take over of the Congress. I have not seen that angry man for a while -- mostly we are waited on by attractive Hispanic women who Dad speaks Spanish to -- he seems to them much better!!!
I had forgotten Becky about those great after dinner walks and the angry waiter!! I was always relieved when we got a different waiter who did not make Dad mad!! You are so good to always take the kids on walks or really whatever they need!! Love you. Kristy
