Abby getting ready to depart with her fare card, although she ended up somehow getting hers back, while they took Amy's!!All the kids had LOADS of fun at the National Museum of American History, stopping by Dave's office, and eating lunch at Union Station at America!!!! Amy, Ellen, and Julie REALLY enjoyed taking pictures throught the museum, metro rides, etc. These are some of the pictures Amy took throughout the day! THe museum was very cool with everything from flags, to Dorothy's ruby slippers, to aremy food, to violins and cellos!!! It was a very fun museum where for the most part, you could take pictures!!! (Amy was in picture- taking HEAVEN!!!) They then walked awhile to get to America, but decided to make a stop by Dave's office!! Since none of the boys had seen it before!!!!! They were all glad to get some air-conditioning in before finishing the walk to Union Station!!!! Becky treated everyone to a giant lunch at America, where Amy thought the Shirrely Temple they gave her was alcoholic!!!! After a long day of walking and sightseeing, they took a stop to get some Robeks!!!! What a fun treat!!!! Thanks so much Becky and Julie!!!!!
A little bit of family heaven tonight looking at Julies pictures and then Amy's. So glad we are a picture taking family. It makes me happy to see happy smiling grandchldren and my brave daughter enjoying an adventure on the metro and a cultural museum and then be treated to lunch by another brave daughter!!! Great fun.
ReplyDeleteWe had so much fun! What a great experience. I esp. liked that Abby and Matthew were so interested in the film about the struggles lincoln had with the Emancipation Proclamation. These are some interested kids! Everyone kept asking "Are these all yours??"

ReplyDeleteThe sight of sweet Abby in front of the metro turnstile holding her little fare card makes me resolve to be more patient to the tourists who consistently thwart my effort to efficiently enter and exit the metro every single day starting in March and persisting until September!
